Electrolysis Hair Removal
Permanent hair removal for every hair colour, every skin tone, every body.

What is electrolysis hair removal?
Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. Unlike laser, which targets the pigment in the hair, electrolysis works by sending a small current directly into the follicle to safely and permanently destroy it. That means it can treat all hair colours — including blonde, red, grey, and white — and is safe for all skin tones.
At Nüd Sugaring + Laser Studio in Leduc, we specialize in hair removal that’s gentle, inclusive, and effective. Whether you’re looking to tidy up small areas like your upper lip or brows, or you’re seeking a long-term solution for thicker or hormonally influenced hair, electrolysis is a proven, precise option.
The three electrolysis modalities:
Thermolysis, Galvanic & Blend
Electrolysis hair removal uses three proven modalities to permanently disable hair follicles. We tailor the method to your hair type, skin, and treatment area for the best results in Leduc and the Edmonton area.
Thermolysis
Uses high‑frequency radiofrequency (an alternating current) to create a pinpoint burst of heat in the follicle. Feels like a quick warm zap. Fast per hair; great for many face/body areas and fine–medium hair (and works on coarse with the right settings).
Galvanic
Uses a low, steady direct current (DC) to create a tiny amount of sodium hydroxide ("lye") inside the follicle. The lye chemically collapses the growth centre. Slower per hair but very thorough—helpful for curved/distorted or deep follicles and when we want less heat on sensitive skin.
Blend
Combines DC chemistry with RF heat. The RF acts as an accelerating current—a gentle warmth that helps the lye form and work faster—so you get speed and completeness. Excellent for coarse/resistant hairs (chin, neck, bikini) and mixed densities.
Which method is best? We decide together based on area, hair size/density, moisture, sensitivity, hormones (e.g., PCOS), contraindications and your goals—and we can switch modalities within a session to keep you comfortable and efficient.
Electrolysis is performed one follicle at a time with precision and hygiene. We cleanse the skin and map priority areas (you’ll arrive with a little regrowth so we can see each hair). A sterile, hair‑thin filament is guided into the natural opening of the follicle—no piercing of the skin—then a quick, controlled pulse disables the follicle’s growth cells. The treated hair slides out without resistance using sterile forceps (no plucking or yanking). We continue across the area at a pace that suits you, then finish with calming post‑care and simple home instructions.
What it feels like: a brief warmth or tingle that lasts a second. Most people find it very manageable, and we can pause any time.
Safety first: Single‑use sterile filaments, gloves, and medical‑grade disinfection are used for every treatment.
